Supporting Mental Health in The Workplace
Now more than ever, mental health is crucial.
But most of us little experience properly dealing with mental health in the workplace.
COVID-19 has had a marked effect on mental health. Stress levels are at an all-time high with working safely, working remotely, managing family and community needs during the crisis, and people are seeking ways to cope.
Through the Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace program, the Chamber aims to help enterprises take a proactive, research-based, and compassionate approach to mental health in the workplace when they and their staff need it most.
With this approach to mental health, we have the potential to reduce absenteeism and turnover, reduce associated costs to employers, and aid with operations.
The Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace program has two parts:
- Virtual Training: Mental Health Recognition and Response
- Develop a Strategy: Access to Psychological Health and Safety Advisors
Both program streams are available to all organizations in the Haliburton Highlands.
The Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace program is in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and made possible through FED DEV funding.
