Nominees announced for 11th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards

Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce receives record number of nominations for the 11th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards.

HALIBURTON, ON, February 7th, 2017: Following a very busy year in 2016 for many Haliburton County businesses, the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that 95 nominations have been received for 75 different businesses, organizations, and individuals in our community for the 11th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards.

“This is a record number of nominations, which reflects the exceptional work being done across the Haliburton Highlands,” says Autumn Smith, Manager of the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce. “This Gala is just one of the ways we are able to show our appreciation, and it wouldn’t be possible without our sponsors and volunteers.”

“Whether a business is in manufacturing, the trades, retail or tourism, we all share a special dynamic within Haliburton County. This County is a special, beautiful place but within it, unique and special challenges await. We live and operate in a rural environment with transient populations that can hugely impact our business cycles and even the weather can have a huge affect on our local business economy,” says Lorne Heise, President of Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems, the Title Sponsor for the 11th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards Gala.

“If a business is a start-up or even well established in Haliburton County, it takes hard work, smart thinking, courage, strength and perseverance to succeed. It takes a special person or people to take on these challenges,” says Heise. “As Heat-Line approaches 3 decades of business here, we are once again honoured to sponsor the Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala for 2017. The Chamber and its Members work very hard to organize this prestigious event in order to give us all the opportunity to recognize the Nominees and Recipients for their accomplishments and contribution to our community.”
