Award Recipients Announced for the 13th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards Gala

HALIBURTON HIGHLANDS, ON, April 1, 2019: Today, the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the list of winners for the 13th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards Gala.

A total of 127 nominations were received for local businesses, organizations and individuals across Haliburton County.  The Business & Achievement Awards Gala, through a public nomination process, recognizes the businesses, organizations, and individuals who are “doing it right” in our community. The 13th Annual Business & Community Achievement Awards Gala, sponsored by Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems, took place on Saturday March 30th, 2019 at the Pinestone Resort & Conference Centre.

“Thank you to our Members for your continued support and involvement with the Chamber. Life here is unique, and we all want to achieve the same goals – to have a healthy, robust and thriving community for years to come.”, said Andrea Strano, President of the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce during her welcome address. “This really is about local businesses supporting one another. That’s how we do it in a small town – we support each other, face challenges together and embrace change together”.

The recipients are as follows:

Innovation and Creativity Award – Haliburton Solar and Wind

Not-for-Profit of the Year Award – Rotary Club of Haliburton

Customer First – Business Award – Haliburton Solar and Wind

Customer First – Employee Award – Shontel Neville (Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems)

Business Achievement Award – Haliburton Solar and Wind

New Business of the Year Award – Haliburton County Chiropractic & Rehabilitation

Tourism & Hospitality Award – Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve

Young Professional of the Year Award – Dr. Kassie Wright (Haliburton County Chiropractic & Rehabilitation)

Skilled Trades & Industry Award – Haliburton Solar and Wind

Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Brandi Hewson (WAI Products Ltd.)

County Warden’s Award – Harvest Haliburton

Highlander of the Year Award – Steve Todd
