My history with Haliburton is long and this place has always been close to my heart, even when I was physically far away. My family has been here since the turn of the century, and we had a cottage on Drag Lake for years. I spent many of my best summers in Haliburton village before moving here full-time to graduate from Hal-High. I left to get two degrees from Western, and later got another from the University of Saskatchewan.

Over the years, I have worked in many settings, from a cashier at Todd’s Independent when it first opened to a marketing associate in the corporate office of a large bank. In 2012, I moved to Alberta and found work as an environmental consultant. In this role, I gained business acumen and management skills as I worked on a variety of projects and capacities – my work spanned everything from providing marketing support to writing regulatory reports.

As many do, I have returned to the area to make a life for myself and my daughter, as I wanted to get back to my roots and give my daughter a small-town upbringing. When the position as ED of the Chamber of Commerce became available, I jumped at the chance to join the team, as I knew it would be a great opportunity to make a tangible difference in my beloved community.

I am passionately dedicated to doing everything possible to ensure the Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce successfully provides a voice for the business community – I want to be the support our local businesses need. Member or not, please do get in touch! I am always excited to hear stories and learn more about the businesses in our community.

I have been a frequent visitor to the beautiful Haliburton Highlands since 1990 when I spent many wonderful weekends visiting my in laws.  In 2006, my husband and I purchased our cottage on Lake Kashagawigamog allowing us to spend every summer in Haliburton with family and friends!  In 2012, we repatriated to Canada and moved to Maple, Ontario.  We would leave the city after work on a Friday and return on Sunday night.   However, Friday after work turned into Thursday after work and Sunday night turned into Monday morning!

In December 2016, we made the move to Haliburton to ‘Work Where We Play’!

We have lived in many countries, provinces, states and cities, and we feel blessed to call Haliburton HOME!
